Who we are, and how we are run
Doon Muslim Community is a Muslim-led non-profit organization in Doon South, Kitchener. We are run by volunteers, accountable to our community, and open to everyone.
Our mission
“To serve the Kitchener community by providing spiritual, social, economic, and educational support, with a focus on newcomers, women, youth, and seniors, in order to strengthen community connection and individual wellbeing.”
What we were set up to do

- Deliver or coordinate support programming for women, youth, and seniors in the community
- Facilitate employment connections, job postings, and career development programming
- Host business networking and community-connection events
- Provide settlement support and language services for newcomers
- Partner with other local organizations on community initiatives
Some of these activities are running and some are still being built. See Programs for what is active today.

- We use organization accounts and email addresses only, never personal phone numbers or private details.
- Our accounts (website, domains, banking) belong to the organization, with at least two officers holding access.
- Every donation option says what it supports, and we never suggest donations are tax-deductible.
- Photos of people only with their consent, and no photos of children without a parent’s permission.
- Yearly summary of activities and finances: Board to decide
